What year did you join PRSA? 2018

What was your first job out of college? I was a content specialist for a West Michigan-based digital marketing agency, Mindscape.

What was your biggest career lesson? In challenging situations, always trust your judgment to guide decisions while being open to hearing others’ thoughts and experiences.

What lesson do you want to share with graduates entering the workforce in PR?
Connect with your local PRSA chapter and seek out active mentorship opportunities. Seasoned PR professionals are often eager to take upcoming pros under their wing and share lessons learned.

What is your favorite aspect of the PR profession? I enjoy the balance of strategic planning and incorporating creativity through storytelling. Pairing strategic initiatives with a strong human-centric story is always a win!

What do you most value about being a member of PRSA? I value the variety of resources available at a local and national level, from online webinars to in-person programming and networking. PRSA has given me a step up throughout many phases of my career. I’ve also built and established lifelong friendships during my time serving on my local board.

What do you hope to accomplish in joining the ECD board? I hope to continue elevating the work of my West Michigan home chapter, by building deeper connections at the district level.

When not working, where would we find you? I love spending time with my husband and young daughter. We enjoy being outside and staying busy!
