ECD RULES AT ICON!

The PRSA East Central District demonstrated its engagement and influence in PRSA governance, education, and community during ICON’s four-day run in Orlando.
It began with Chair-elect Kim Skeltis, Detroit’s Antonice Strickland, and Central Ohio’s Colin Wylie attending the Leadership Training Rally. It was an opportunity to interact with newly elected chapter, district, and interest section leaders and prepare for success managing their organization’s volunteers in the year ahead.
At the ICON Leadership Assembly, our ECD past-chair and 2026 National Board ECD Representative John Palmer was elected 2027 National Board secretary and delivered findings from the PRSA Chapter Leadership Focus Groups Membership Recruitment and Retention Initiative.
It was a special privilege at assembly to help elect ECD Past-Chair Andrea Clark, APR (West Michigan, to the 2027 National Board as the ECD representative. Her election came after a hard-earned petition drive to be nominated from the assembly floor. ECD Chair Mark Pompilio served as the ECD delegate and proxy delegate for PRSA Dayton, Bluegrass, and West Virginia, and Chair-Elect Kim Skeltis served as delegate for PRSA West Michigan. We were so proud to vote for Andrea, and so grateful to the members who signed her petition, and the 165 delegates who gave Andrea their vote.
ECD Past-Chair Jennifer Kramer served as a champion at the “Champions for PRSSA” breakfast. ICON session speakers from ECD included Thoroughbred’s Katie Neal and Greater Cleveland’s Heidi Modarelli-Frank and Jennifer Elting. Hoosier Chapter President LaMar Holliday was honored with the Service Award at the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Celebration, and Detroit Past-President TaQuinda Cylar was named to the 2027 Black Voices Affinity Group team.
ECD members celebrated together with Disney characters and University of Central Florida cheerleaders at the ICON welcome reception, and we said our goodbyes at the ECD ICON meet-up dinner. We will meet again next year in Chicago!
