Jennifer L. Kramer, APR, ECD Immediate Past Chair & Nominating Committee Chair
- Are you looking for your next leadership opportunity within PRSA?
- Do you enjoy collaborating with professionals across six states and 15 chapters?
- Do you want to expand your network, sharpen your leadership skills, and give back to the profession we love?
If you answered “yes” to any of these, I encourage you to consider applying to serve on the PRSA East Central District (ECD) Board of Directors.
The Nominating Committee is currently accepting applications for the 2026 Board Slate, which includes both Executive Committee roles and Director-at-Large positions.
- Directors-at-Large serve two-year terms (January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2027).
- Executive Committee positions are one-year terms (January 1 – December 31, 2026).
- Per our bylaws, the Chair-Elect will automatically advance to Chair the following year.
Why Serve?
I can personally tell you this opportunity is worth it. Over the years, I’ve been honored to serve the ECD as a Director, Treasurer, Chair-Elect, Chair, and Immediate Past Chair. Each role has given me new perspectives, stronger professional connections, and meaningful friendships. Serving on the board has challenged me to think bigger, advocate more boldly for our members, and help shape the future of our profession at the district level.
Being part of this board isn’t just about leadership, it’s about collaboration, vision and service.
Responsibilities
The ECD Board is responsible for all District activities and ensuring the District stays focused on its mission. Board members help determine policy, guide strategy, and represent members’ needs. Specific responsibilities include:
- Participating in all board meetings (virtual, plus one in-person fall meeting).
- Serving on at least one committee annually.
- Supporting the District’s strategic plan and initiatives.
- Providing input on policies, programs, and the District’s future direction.
- Ensuring financial accountability and responsible governance.
- Representing the profession and PRSA members within the District.
The 2026 ECD Chair will make committee assignments.

Final Thought
If you’ve ever thought about stepping into leadership, this is your chance. Serving on the ECD Board has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career, and I’d love to see more members take advantage of the opportunity.
