Dear PRSA ECD Community:

Welcome to 2024!

I have eagerly anticipated the privilege of being your Chair this year. Collaborating with our esteemed Board of Directors and dedicated volunteer leaders is a prospect that fills me with enthusiasm. PRSA East Central District’s committed leadership sets us apart, instilling great pride in me as a member of this exceptional organization. Together, I know we can continue to shape the future of our District and make meaningful contributions to our industry.

As we step into the promising landscape of 2024, it is with great excitement that we embrace the spirit of growth and transformation. This year marks the beginning of our journey under the guiding principles of our 2024-2027 strategic plan—a roadmap designed to shape the future of PRSA ECD and elevate our collective impact.

Many of you had input into crafting this document as part of our Leadership Forums, 360 Survey, Leadership Roundtables, QuickStart Leadership Conference, Coffee Chats and many other opportunities for two-way communication. Your valuable insights have played a pivotal role in shaping this document, reflecting the collaborative spirit that defines PRSA ECD.

Let me highlight a few of our high-level goals:

BUILD: Elevating Leadership Skills Across PRSA and PRSSA Chapters
Our foremost goal is to position PRSA East Central District as the unparalleled hub for cultivating leadership skills. Through targeted initiatives and joint efforts, we aim to foster a community that values leadership and actively seeks to develop and nurture it. Together, we will build an environment where leadership excellence becomes synonymous with the PRSA and PRSSA experience.

INFLUENCE: Championing Excellence in our Chapters and our Advocacy Efforts
Organizational excellence is at the core of our mission. We commit ourselves to the highest standards of operational and administrative practices, ensuring that PRSA ECD stands as a beacon of professionalism and integrity. We will champion advocacy efforts that serve the interests of our current and prospective members, driving positive change within our organization and the broader PR community.

EVOLVE: Enriching the Experience of All District Chapter Leaders
Our success is intricately tied to the involvement and experience of our district chapter leaders. In the pursuit of excellence, we aspire to boost participation and enhance the knowledge of our leaders. By providing support, resources, and opportunities for growth, we aim to evolve together, creating a dynamic and vibrant network of leaders within our district.

For reference, our Strategic Plan is located here: Strategic Plan 2024-2027

The PRSA ECD Board will vote to approve this plan at our meeting on January 24. Our board meetings will continue to be every fourth Wednesday at 8 a.m. If you wish to receive the Zoom information and be included in our meetings, kindly inform me, and I will ensure you are added to the distribution list. Your active participation is welcomed, and we encourage you to join our discussions. Keep an eye on this newsletter, our social media platforms, and other communication channels for upcoming events and important announcements throughout the year.

As we embark on this transformative journey, let us celebrate the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and progress. The challenges ahead are opportunities for us to demonstrate the resilience and unity that define PRSA ECD, and we can all move forward with your involvement.

Thank you for your contributions to PRSA. I look forward to a year where we can all help PRSA ECD build toward the future, influence the PR industry and evolve as leaders to significantly impact the District and our Chapters.

Wishing you my very best for a successful start to 2024!
