PRSA ECD MOVING FORWARD WITH 2027 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Public Relations Society of America East Central District has completed its board election process, selecting a combination of new and returning leaders to guide the district in 2027.
Following the development of the board slate and a districtwide election that concluded October 21, four new directors-at-large were elected to two-year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2027. They include Niki Mayakova (Dayton), Katie Neal (Thoroughbred), Jim Owston (West Virginia) and Steve Radick (Pittsburgh).
The district also elected Dr. Alisa “Aggie” Agozzino, APR (Central Ohio), as chair-elect and Christine DeJoy (Hoosier) as treasurer. They will join incoming district chair Kim Skeltis, APR (West Michigan), and continuing secretary BJ Fischer (Northwest Ohio). Mark Pompilio (Dayton) will serve as immediate past chair.
Five continuing directors-at-large will provide additional leadership and continuity: TaQuinda Cylar (Detroit), Kerry Francis, APR (Central Ohio), Michele Hill (Thoroughbred), Deeksha Kapoor, APR (Hoosier) and Jamie Ward, APR (Northwest Ohio).
The 2027 board represents a broad cross-section of PRSA chapters throughout the East Central District, bringing diverse professional experiences and perspectives to district leadership. Nine chapters have representation on the 2027 board. Maribeth Farkas (Detroit) and Alexa Welch (Bluegrass) are rolling off the board after this year.
“I am grateful for the willingness of these outstanding professionals to serve our district,” said Mark D. Weinstein, immediate past chair and chair of the nominating committee. “Their commitment to leadership, collaboration and advancing the public relations profession positions ECD for continued success. I am confident our best years are ahead for our district.”
