The mission of the East Central District is to build stronger chapters throughout the district by facilitating chapter leadership development and communication and fostering professional development.  The district also seeks to recognize professionals who have provided outstanding service to further the public relations profession.

The East Central District Diamond Awards exemplify brilliance in public relations campaigns and tactics conducted by individuals practicing in our geographic region. The 2012 competition was  administered by the Dayton Chapter.  Information on the 2013 competition will be forthcoming both electronically and on this site.

The Platinum (Durocher) Award recognizes outstanding professional service on the part of the East Central District PRSA members.  The award is named after former national PRSA Board Member, ECD Chair and Detroit Chapter President Donald P. Durocher, APR, Fellow PRSA.   In his memory, the district board recognizes a practitioner who has achieved a distinguished service record – someone who can be clearly identified as a role model for other professionals.

The annual QuickStart Conference brings together presidents-elect from all 16 chapters in the East Central District with outstanding speakers to help prepare leaders for their terms of service.  Other chapter officers and committee chairs are more than welcome to attend.  Past attendees have called QuickStart one of the most useful PRSA leadership preparation programs available.  Join us in the fall of 2013 and see for yourself how much QuickStart can benefit 2014 chapter presidents and other key leaders!
